In a monumental achievement, Kapla Drives Sri Lanka's First electric automobile export

Sri Lanka's first and only commercially producing electric vehicle manufacturer, Kapla Motor Industries, has made history by exporting its first-ever locally manufactured golf cart, marking a significant milestone in the global electric vehicle landscape. Having invented Sri Lanka's first-ever electric car in 2003 , Kapla was established in 2014 and rapidly gained recognition for producing top-quality electric vehicles, including golf carts, three-wheel golf carts, Mini SUVs, electric golf cart busses and an electric car. This recent achievement not only reflects Kapla's commitment to excellence but also highlights Sri Lanka's growing prominence in the electric vehicle market.

The occasion was graced by General Kamal Gunaratne the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and other Industrial Ministry officials.

Kapla's golf carts, designed and manufactured entirely within Sri Lanka, are a shining example of sustainable and innovative electric vehicle technology. Becuase of Kapla's attention to detail and meeting international standards now Kapla electric vehicles are globally recognized.

What sets this accomplishment apart is Kapla's unwavering focus on domestic value addition (DVA), which has soared beyond 80%. This emphasis on local manufacturing not only fuels the Sri Lankan economy but also contributes significantly to job creation within the manufacturing sector.
